  • HOW DO YOU APPROACH TEACHING STUDENT THROUGH YOUR ONLINE TUTORING SESSIONS?
In my online tutoring program, I use a comprehensive and empathetic approach tailored to help students who struggle with math. Here's what you can expect: Free Math Pre-Assessment: Each student starts with a session that includes meeting me and connecting with their parent. We'll discuss their needs and goals for tutoring to ensure it's a good fit. Diagnostic Math Assessment: The journey begins with a detailed assessment during the first two sessions to identify specific math challenges. This gives me insight into the student's needs and learning preferences. Personalized Learning Plan: Based on the assessment, I create a customized learning plan that focuses on developing fundamental skills and addressing gaps. This ensures a strong foundation before moving on to more advanced topics. Engaging and Interactive Sessions: I use tools and methods on Koala Go, such as games, visual aids, and real-world examples, to make math enjoyable and simplify complex concepts. Pacing and Patience: Recognizing that some students need more time to grasp new information, I tailor the lesson pace to each student's learning speed, allowing for sufficient practice without overwhelming them. Promoting a Growth Mindset: I emphasize confidence and a positive attitude toward math, framing challenges as opportunities for growth and highlighting effort and perseverance. Consistent Feedback and Open Communication: I regularly update students and parents and keep communication open, so parents understand their child's progress and can support their learning at home. Adaptability: As students grow, I adjust the learning plan to meet their evolving needs and ensure they're always challenged in a supportive environment. With my years of teaching experience, this approach not only improves math skills but also nurtures a love of learning and empowers students to believe in their ability to overcome challenges.
